La Masseria is a genuine Italian family-run restaurant, the items on the menu are traditional and each dish ordered is prepared by the family themselves.This is where seasons create the menu, simplicity is cihef, and slow food is a way of life. Good, simple, passionate food is what we are about and it is our birthright and life's vocation to fiercely protect "la cucina italiana" from any influences which may jeopardize its authenticity.
The restaurant is housed within a very old historical building, the original Evertsdal Cellar, comprising a bar area, and the main restaurant area with inviting open-hearth fireplace for cosy winter evenings, and the al fresco outside dining area (non-smoking) with breath-taking views of the Stellenbosch mountains - perfect for a warm summer's evening. Our menu is typically authentic Italian, comprising some classic dishes and a few more modern exciting ones , with influences from both Northern and Southern Italy. We are firm believers of seasonal cooking, so we have a summer and a winter a la carte menu, which we ammend twice a year. Our wine list is made up from wines from the Durbanville and West Coast regions, to complement our food.
Corkage is R 25.00 per 750ml bottle ( max 1 bottle per 2 persons on larger bookings)
Operating hours are Tues-Sat for lunch and dinner ,as well as for lunch on Sundays.
Besides the Opera evening at the end of the month ,we have our ever-popular live music and sing-along every Fri and Sat night and Sun lunch (R 8.00 couvert charge per person)
Minimum R 50.00 food order applies. Service fee of 10% is added on all groups of 8 and more .
